Player of the Week - Liam Howley, Cherry Hill West
Saturday, May 14, 2005
Grade: Senior
Events: Middle Hitter/Setter
Height: 6-3
Accomplishments: Howley has started the past two seasons, helping the Lions to a 35-6 record. Last year he helped the Lions win the Olympic Conference American Division crown and helped the team to second place this season. During this season, Howley has been averaging a little over 10 kills a match. His quickness to the ball has been a major factor in the team's success and he's improved his passing tremendously.
Comments: "His quickness to the ball is very deceptive," coach Scott Sweeten said. "He has made himself a good, all-around player and he has gotten very creative in his shots." Howley: "We have had a pretty good season but not as good as we could have. We have the state tournament in front of us, but before that we have some tough matches coming up."
