Accomplishments: Chatman turned in solid, all-around performances as Eastern went 9-1 in capturing the Eastern Invitational for the first time ever. His performance along the net was dominating as the Vikings lost the first match of the tournament and then won nine straight, including the championship game against two-time defending state champion East Brunswick. In the final, Chatman had four kills.
Comments: "Larry has gotten steadily better with each passing season," coach Tom Armour said. "He has gotten to the point where he owns the net. He has become a very good blocker and attacker." Chatman said: "That was a big tournament for us. We were a little rusty in the first match that we lost to Cherry Hill East. But after that I thought we played very well. I think we have chance to be a very good team. We just have to keep working hard."
