SENIORS

Cara Smaniotto, Millville: Two-time All-South Jersey pick in the 200 IM; was fifth in the 200 IM and third in the 100 backstroke at states; won 200 IM and tied for first in backstroke at Coaches Invitational; signed with University of Richmond.

Natalie Thomas, Cherokee: All-South Jersey first team diver; won state championship by more than 50 points; set Jim Roach 11-dive meet record by 22 points; broke 20-year-old Coaches Invitational record; top 11- and 6-dive scores in area.

Alicia Mackleer, Oakcrest: All-South Jersey second team selection in the 50 free; was sixth in the 50 free and eighth in the 100 at states; second in the 50 and fourth in the 100 at Coaches Invitational.

Liza Marianni, Cherry Hill West: Was state diving champion as a sophomore; All-South Jersey second team selection last year; finished second at the Coaches Invitational.

Morgan Ley, Cherry Hill West: All-South Jersey second team choice in the 100 breaststroke; finished ninth in the 100 breaststroke at states; fourth in the 100 breaststroke at Coaches Invitational; leader in the pool for the Lions.

Emily Reichard, Eastern: Captain and one of the strong center lane swimmers for the Vikings; eighth in the 100 breaststroke and ninth in the 200 free at states; was third in the 100 breaststroke at Coaches Invitational.

Debbie Bateman, Mainland: Consolation finalist in both 50 and 100 frees at states; was ninth in the 100; won the 50 and 100 at Coaches Invitational; helped Mainland 200 free relay at Coaches meet.

Blair Gontowicz, Rancocas Valley: Burlington County's premier sprinter; was fourth in the 100 free and eighth in the 50 at states; won both races at the Burlington County Open; second in the 100 and third in the 50 at Coaches Invitational.

JUNIORS

Tiffany Malatesta, Vineland: Returning Swimmer of the Year; state champion in 100 freestyle; swam on three state champion relays; won the 100 free and 100 butterfly at Cape-Atlantic championship meet; quiet, but strong leader.

Sabrina Warren, Vineland: All-South Jersey first team in the 200 free; second at states in the 100 free, fourth in the 200; member of two state champion relays.

Kate Hafner, Cinnaminson: Youngest member of one the elite swimming families in South Jersey; was seventh in the 200 IM and eighth in the 500 free at states; won the 200 IM and 500 free at Burlington County Open; won the 200 IM and was second in the 500 free at Coaches Division B meet.

Samantha Edwards, Woodstown: First year swimming high school but comes loaded with club experience; sub-5 minutes in the 500 free; selected as a member of the National Junior Team; a sure-bet state finalist.

Allison Rolish, Cherry Hill West: One of the cornerstones of the Lions lineup; eighth in the 200 free and 11th in the 500 at states; sixth in the 200 and third in the 500 at Coaches Invitational; one of two underclassmen on Lions' All-South Jersey second team 400 free relay.

Cassie Tubb, Kingsway: Finished 10th in the 100 breaststroke at states; was second in breaststroke at the Gloucester County Championships; won breaststroke at the Coaches Invitational; key to Dragons' quest to compete for South Jersey Public B crown.

Meghan McCourt, Gloucester Catholic: Transfer from Bishop Eustace; did not compete scholastically last season for the Crusaders; breaststroke her forte, but will also shine in 200 IM and 100 butterfly and contribute mightily on Rams' relays.

Jenell Walsh-Thomas, Lenape: Finished fifth in the 500 free at states; third fastest 500 free time in area; won both the 200 and 500 free at South Jerey League meet; was second in the 500 at Coaches Invitational.

Sarah Czar, Egg Harbor Twp.: Back competing scholastically after taking year off; was third in the 100 and fourth in the 200 free at 2003 state championship meet; adds sprinting depth for the Eagles.

Renee Tomlin, Ocean City: Had fifth fastest 200 free time and third fastest 100 butterfly time in the area; 13th in 200 free at states; first in 200 free at Coaches Invitational; won 100 butterfly and was second in the 200 free Cape Atlantic meet.

Allison Vetter, Cinnaminson: All-South Jersey second team in 100 butterfly; second fastest 100 butterfly time in the area; 12th in the 100 butterfly at states; second in the 50 free, won the 100 butterfly at Burlington County championships; won butterfly at Coaches Invitational.

Kellene McCall, Gloucester Catholic: All-South Jersey second team in 100 backstroke; fourth fastest 100 backstroke time in the area; second in backstroke at Coaches Invitational; 13th in backstroke at states.

SOPHOMORES

Stevie Anderson, Vineland: One of two freshmen to make first team All-South Jersey; finished fifth in the 50 free at states; second best time in the 50 in area; led off both state champion free relays.

Cassie Cregar, Washington Twp.: All-South Jersey first team in the 500 free; was second in the 500 free and third in the 200 at states; won both races at the Coaches Invitational; set Gloucester County Championships record in 500 (5:09.19).

Shannon Silber, Eastern: Should really come into her own this season; 11th in the 100 free at states; fourth in the 100, fifth in the 50 at the Coaches Invitational; fourth in the 100; seventh in the 50 at South Jersey League Meet.

FRESHMEN

Joanna Thomas, Mainland: May be one of the top freshmen distance swimmers in the state this year; has already gone under five minutes in the 500 free this season for her club team; one of area's top female open water swimmers.

Jill Smaniotto, Millville: Another with strong club experience; already plugged into the Millville lineup in the 100 free and 100 butterfly; along with sister, Cara, a tough one-two punch.
