Accomplishments: Martin's excellent play has helped Washington Township open its season with a record of 6-1. In Wednesday's 2-0 win over Winslow Township, Martin had four kills, three digs, seven service points and four aces. On Sept. 24 in a 2-0 win over Lenape, Martin recorded three kills, three digs and 10 service points with four aces.

Comments: "Karen is a very dedicated and focused volleyball player. She's always giving 110 percent," coach Barbara McBrearty said. "Karen worked very hard during the offseason. The extra work totally improved her play. She's an all-around player, front row or back." Said Martin: "The season has started out very well. The team works well together and we're all good friends. We're hoping to win the division championship."
