•Island Fun Park Miniature Golf

Difficulty: 5 (scale of 1-5).

Outstanding feature: Giant ape at entrance.

Who should play here: Real golfers who think mini-golf is lame.

Location: Route 147, Middle Township (east of Garden State Parkway).

Hours: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Admission: $6 (adults) and $4 (children under 12).

•La Mer Mini Golf

Difficulty rating: 1.

Outstanding feature: Real goldfish in pond at end of course.

Who should play here: Young children; golfers who want to give their dates a sporting chance.

Location: Pittsburgh and New Jersey avenues, Cape May.

Admission: $4 (daytime) and $5 (after 6 p.m.).

•Pirate Island Golf

Difficulty rating: 2.5.

Outstanding feature: Replica of ship's hull. Arrrggghhh, matey!

Who should play here: Anyone worried about Pat Croce's financial health.

Location: 33rd Street and Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

•Goblin Golf

Outstanding feature: Replicas of rotting corpses.

Who should play here: The Addams Family.

Location: 1244 Boardwalk, Ocean City.

•Atlantic City Miniature Golf

Outstanding feature: Ocean view.

Who should play here: Unlucky gamblers down to their last fiver.

Location: Boardwalk at Mississippi Avenue.

Outstanding feature: Windmill on hole 5.

Who should play here: Anyone who believes 1955 was the last great year.

Location: Long Beach Boulevard between 17th and 18th streets, North Beach Haven.
