BRIDGEPORT, Conn
Thomas Howard hit a three-run double and Kim Batiste contributed a three-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to help the Camden Riversharks pull away from the Bridgeport Bluefish and win 15-6 Tuesday night.
Howard finished the night with three hits and five RBIs, as the Riversharks had 14 hits against five Bridgeport pitchers. Camden improved to 22-35 and Bridgeport fell to 30-27.
Camden broke a 6-6 tie with two runs in the seventh inning, thanks to RBIs from leadoff hitter and shortstop John Dorman and designated hitter Nelson Abreu. Dorman went 3-for-6 with four runs scored. Camden pulled away with seven runs in the ninth.
Winning pitcher Jeff Love (3-0) surrendered three hits and two unearned runs.
Dorman, who opened the game with a single, scored the first run in the first inning when he came across on a wild pitch. Bridgeport tied the game in the bottom of the first, then tied the game again, 2-2, in the bottom of the third.
