The Camden Riversharks fell to the Bridgeport Bluefish 8-1 on Wednesday. Both teams are now tied in their best-of- three Atlantic League playoff series. The deciding game will be played tonight at 6:35 at Bridgeport.
The Bluefish scored one run in the first inning and two in the third. That's all the offense they would need. Bridgeport's first run came when Cesar Devarez scored on a bases-loaded walk to Rolo Avila. They added two more in the third inning when Devarez had an RBI single and Juan Rocha added a sacrifice fly.
Riversharks starting pitcher Kevin Dougherty took the loss, allowing nine hits, three earned runs and three walks without a strikeout in 4 2/3 innings. Bridgeport's Masaru Imazeki picked up the win, going seven innings, allowing four hits and one earned run while walking two and striking out seven.
Camden's lone run came in the fifth inning when Yuri Sanchez's RBI single scored Bryon Gainey, who had two hits on the night.
Gavin Osteen (4-10, 3.32 ERA) will start tonight for the Riversharks against Bridgeport's Kevin Henthorne (3-1, 2. 08).
