There's something about baseball

Some people will debate the economic impact the Camden Riversharks and Campbell's Field will have on South Jersey.

Some will discuss the financial deals that built the stadium.

Others will ponder the field's role in Waterfront development and what it means to expanding the city's tax base.

Today, we prefer to talk about baseball.

There's something special about baseball, about parents taking wide-eyed kids to their first ballgame and - if they' re a bit lucky - catching a foul ball or scoring an autograph from one of the players.

Tonight, 6,425 people will crowd into Campbell's Field to see the first-ever Riversharks' home game.

Win or lose, it will be special.

And that's a good thing.
