Two more potential jurors for the murder retrial of Rabbi Fred J. Neulander were selected Tuesday.
Fifty-six potential jurors have been selected since Judge Linda G. Baxter began the process Sept. 3 in this Central Jersey community. Once there is a pool of 58 to 60 potential jurors, Baxter will stop screening Monmouth County residents individually. From that pool, a 12-member jury and four alternates will be selected on Oct. 21, the first day of the trial.
Neulander is accused of hiring a hit man to kill his wife, Carol, on Nov. 1, 1994, inside the couple's Cherry Hill home. His first trial last fall in Camden ended in a mistrial after jurors deadlocked. Neulander could face the death penalty if convicted.
