Voice your support

I wish to lend my voice to thousands of Gloucester County residents who support the initiative of state Sen. John J. Matheussen and other public servants in their efforts to bring the USS New Jersey back to her rightful home.

Built by the people of the Delaware Valley and launched in 1942, the USS New Jersey should find her final, glorious resting spot in the river which first gave her life. A berth along the Camden Waterfront, just south of the Aquarium and Sony E-Centre, seems ideal. This area is becoming ever more vibrant and the addition of the most decorated warship in our nation's history can only add to South Jersey's ability to attract tourists and local visitors.

If you have not yet voiced your support of this noble endeavor and you wish to do so, you can send your name, address and phone number to the attention of Sen. John J. Matheussen, P.O. Box 8019, Turnersville, N.J. 08012 or fax to the senator's attention at 228-1925. If you wish to use the Internet to show your support, you can contact me at ussnj@voicenet.com and I will forward your details to Sen. Matheussen's office.
