Reporter signing copies of battleship book Sat.

CAMDEN Carol Comegno, senior reporter for the Courier-Post, will sign copies of The Battleship USS New Jersey: From Birth to Berth on Saturday 3-16 from noon to 3 p.m. at the battleship.

The event will be in the visitor center of the USS New Jersey Memorial and Museum on the Camden Waterfront.

The 160-page hardcover book tells the history of the battleship and relates the efforts to bring it to Camden. It details the construction, commissioning, service and restoration of the nation's most decorated battleship.

The book has more than 200 photos, including archival material and shots taken by Courier-Post photographers since 1999.

The book was written by Comegno, who has covered the ship's saga for the past 3 1/2 years.

The book is available at the newspaper's office, 301 Cuthbert Blvd., Cherry Hill; by calling (800) 677-6289; or by visiting our Web site, www.courierpostonline.com/battleship.

It also is available at Borders Books & Music and the battleship gift shop.

The price is $24.95 plus $1.50 tax.
